Michter’s utilizes a specific suite of techniques—inherited from the original Pennsylvania tradition—to ensure their rye remains structurally distinct from high-volume competitors.

  • 103 Barrel Entry Proof: Entering the barrel at a lower proof allows more wood sugars to dissolve, creating a richer mouthfeel compared to the 125-proof industry standard.
  • Air-Dried Staves: Staves are seasoned for up to five years to reduce bitter tannins before being toasted and charred.
  • Heat-Cycled Maturation: Fluctuating temperatures force the spirit deeper into the oak, accelerating maturation depth.
  • Uncut & Unfiltered: This bottling is non-chill filtered and uncut, preserving the fatty acids and essential oils that define its full-bodied profile.
