Clase Azul Día de Muertos “Recuerdos” 2025 is the fifth and final edition of the brand's annual Nuestros Recuerdos series, an añejo tequila crafted by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco. It blends tequilas aged 12 to 38 months in first-use American whiskey casks, with part of the agave slow-cooked in a pit oven for a roasted, lightly smoky depth, and is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) from 100% Blue Weber agave. It is presented in a handcrafted ivory decanter with ofrenda artwork and a 24-karat gold-plated locket.

The Elemental Distinction
  • The fifth and final edition of the Nuestros Recuerdos Día de Muertos series (after Sabores, Colores, Aromas, and Música).
  • An añejo blend: tequilas aged 12–38 months in first-use American whiskey casks.
  • Part of the agave is pit-roasted, adding a roasted, lightly smoky depth on top of the cask aging.
  • 100% Blue Weber agave; 40% ABV (80 proof); deep amber color.
  • Crafted by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco; ivory decanter with ofrenda artwork by Erika Rivera.
Sensory Profile

Nose: Cooked agave with orange peel and smoked wood, over caramel and clove.

Palate: Orange marmalade and caramelized agave with clove and cinnamon, framed by toasted oak.

Finish: Long, with citrus and toasted wood and a thread of pit-oven smoke.

Strategic Position

As the closing chapter of a five-year series, this is a collector-facing release rather than an everyday pour: the pit-roasted agave and 12–38-month cask blend make it richer and smokier than the standard añejo, and the numbered ofrenda decanter is the draw. It belongs among the rest of our special releases and reads as a more elaborate cousin of the standard Añejo it builds on.

Collector Note

This release is built for the shelf as much as the glass. The ivory decanter is hand-decorated with an ofrenda scene by artist Erika Rivera — the offering through which Día de Muertos keeps absent loved ones present — and a 24-karat gold-plated locket at the base holds milagritos and a small obsidian mirror, traditional symbols of remembrance. The edition is limited to 10,000 individually numbered decanters, which is the source of its collectible standing, and it closes a five-year arc that ran through Sabores, Colores, Aromas, and Música. As with the rest of the line, the regulatory mark (NOM) on the base differs between older Productos Finos de Agave bottles and current Casa Tradición bottles, so confirm the NOM on your bottle.

Recommended Serving

Serve it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, where the cask aging and pit-oven smoke read as caramel, orange, and toasted wood. A single large ice cube softens it without much dilution at 40% ABV. Given the numbered, decorative bottle, this is one to pour slowly rather than mix.

Production Methodology

Crafted under Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, this edition is a blend of tequilas aged between 12 and 38 months in first-use American whiskey casks, built from 100% Blue Weber agave. Part of the agave is slow-cooked in a traditional pit oven in addition to masonry ovens, which adds the roasted, lightly smoky depth that distinguishes it from the standard añejo; reports of a Scotch-cask finish are not supported by the brand's own description and are not stated here. The distillery's regulatory mark (NOM) is 1595 (current Casa Tradición) or 1416 (older Productos Finos de Agave) depending on production date. The ivory decanter, its ofrenda artwork, and the gold-plated locket are handcrafted.
