The Macallan Distil Your World Series

The Macallan Distil Your World Series

Distil Your World is The Macallan's city-portrait series with the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named World's Best Restaurant: five one-time single malt editions — London (2021), New York (2022), Mexico (2023), Hong Kong (2025), and Paris (2026) — each created by a different Macallan whisky maker and never revisited.

The Series, One City at a Time

Five bottled chapters, 2021 to 2026, one method: a Macallan whisky maker walks a city with the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca, then answers what they found with a one-time single malt and a menu. It began with the six-cask London edition of 2021, crossed the Atlantic for the thousand-bottle New York edition, then turned from streets to a festival with the Day of the Dead Mexico edition. the Hong Kong edition built on structure carried that approach to the harbour, and the Cognac-cask Paris edition closed the run in 2026. Each chapter hands the maker's chair to a new name, none has ever been repeated, and the published outturns are small where they exist at all — which is why complete verticals are assembled bottle by bottle from shelves like this one, part of Midnight Whiskey's full whiskey vault.

  • Five bottled chapters in order: London (2021, first release), New York (April 2022), Mexico (November 2023), Hong Kong (April 2025), Paris (February 26, 2026).
  • A different Macallan maker each time — Steven Bremner, Polly Logan, Diane Stuart, Euan Kennedy, and Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell — with the Roca brothers as the series' constant.
  • Published outturns exist only for the first two chapters: 2,000 bottles of London, 1,000 of New York; later editions never published a count.
  • Two charity single casks sit outside the standard editions: a 2002 New York cask (two bottles, one archived, one auctioned for ChaShaMa) and a 2005 Mexico cask whose second bottle fetched US$81,250 at Sotheby's, as reported by The Spirits Business.
  • The wider programme also filmed chapters on Jerez and The Macallan's Scottish homeland that were never bottled — the reason some coverage numbers the editions differently.
  • Every edition ships in the series' white presentation case, each interior built around its city: a London map and book, a New York relief, a Mexican pink marigold well, and a landmark-mapped Paris box.
