What is The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release?
It is a 2022 collection of six bottles from The Macallan, one for each decade of James Bond films from 1962 to 2022. Each pack carries original illustrative artwork from that decade's franchise archive, colour washed in a trending colour of its era. The single malt inside is the same across all six, created by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell at 43.7% ABV.
What is on the Decade I pack?
Decade I carries the 1960s: the Little Nellie combat sequence storyboard from You Only Live Twice (1967), the Interior Fort Knox concept and Laser Room set design from Goldfinger (1964), and a technical drawing of the dummy jet pack worn in Thunderball (1965), per The Macallan's own description of the packaging.
Why is the whisky bottled at 43.7% ABV?
The Macallan states the strength as an homage to 007 — the agent number rendered in the ABV. All six Decade bottles carry the same 43.7%, because the whisky is one spirit across the entire release; the packs, not the liquid, mark the decades.
