Production Methodology

The Glenturret distils in Crieff, in the southern Highlands, and still works to methods it has kept deliberately manual. For this release whisky maker Bob Dalgarno went looking through the distillery's older reserves for a specific set of flavours and settled on five casks. Two European oak casks supply the darker dried fruit and a brandied, gingery edge; one port pipe adds the ruby cast and the red-fruit line; two American oak hogsheads carry the tropical fruit and banana that trace back to the character of the distillery's new-make spirit. The five were married and bottled at 42.7% ABV, filling 500 numbered bottles.
